Don is currently available for a wide variety of performances. Below is a list of options as well as repertoire and programming ideas, if you see something you like, don't wait! Whether it's a solo recital, performing with an ensemble such as a concert band, wind ensemble, brass band, chamber and full orchestra, together we can come up with an exciting, diverse programme that is sure to be entertaining for both your ensemble and audience.

Don is available to perform works for solo bass trombone and piano. His repertoire includes music by Handel, Telemann, Bach as well as new works written by some of today's leading composers. It's music that spans many musical periods and styles and is suitable as a stand alone performance or can be part of a larger concert. These solo works can also be included with the other concert options listed below.

with concert band/wind orchestra

Looking for a guest soloist? Why not feature Don with your ensemble in the upcoming season. He has repertoire suitable for a wide variety of programmes, if you have a specific concert idea we can work with you to include repertoire to enhance your programme. Included in the repertoire for bass trombone and band/wind orchestra are works by Gordon Jacob and Eric Ewazen.

with brass band

As a young bass trombonist, Don was fortunate to have performed in a number of fine brass bands and in the brass band tradition standing up and performing a solo was almost a given. There has been a number of interesting works written and arranged for bass trombone and brass band in recent years and it has become an instrument that is being featured more frequently.

with full orchestra

In the past 30 years the bass trombone has slowly risen to the status as soloist in the orchestra world. With it's rich sound and expressive range, composers have taken the opportunity to test it's limits and show what a unique instrument it really is. Recent composers that have written music for bass trombone and orchestra are Patrick McCarty, Eric Ewazen, Ian McDougall and Chris Brubeck. Currently, Don is available to perform the "Concerto for Bass Trombone and Orchestra" by Chris Brubeck.
